The Origin Story: Why I Built ClinicRanks
As a dentist, my journey into healthcare was driven by a simple promise: to provide patient-first, ethical treatment. However, during my clinical rotations and internship, I noticed a systemic issue that had nothing to do with clinical science, and everything to do with how patients find care online.
I saw patients arriving at clinics in severe pain, carrying dental crowns that fell off in a week, or suffering from infections due to poor sterilization. When I asked how they chose their dentist, the answer was almost always the same: "They were listed at the top of a search directory" or "They had 5 stars online."
Worse, I witnessed credential inflation going completely unchecked. General dental practitioners (BDS only) were frequently advertising themselves as "Orthodontists" (braces specialists) or "Implantologists" online without undergoing the mandatory 3 years of post-graduate Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) residency. In dentistry, this mismatch of expertise leads directly to treatment failures and permanent bone loss.
I decided that we needed a registry with judgment, not just information. I wanted to build the dental equivalent of the Michelin Guide. If a clinic appears in our registry, it is because they passed a rigorous, clinical audit—not because they paid us a fee. That is the core philosophy behind ClinicRanks.
My Role & Clinical Commitment
Registry Standards I Supervise:
- Degree Auditing: Every listed profile undergoes manual confirmation of post-graduate MDS degrees and college recognition status.
- NDC Registry Verification: Cross-referencing license registrations directly with official state council files and the National Dental Commission register.
- Safety & Sterilization Checks: Auditing physical sterilization logs, ensuring the usage of Class B fractionated autoclaves and weekly spore-testing documentation.
- Fee Transparency Policy: Reviewing and listing direct consultation fees to ensure there are no broker commission markups.
